1. Introduction

It is obvious that with out having enough and reliable information and data about the    earth's natural and cultural land escapes, it is difficult to prepare meaning full developmental plan. Therefore, the main objectives of this document are to present compiled information concerning physical and socio-economic condition of the Zone and its development constraints.

The main sources of data used for the preparation of the document are Zonal Health, Educational, Natural Water Resource Development, Finance and Economic Development Department as well as the documents available in FED Office.

The document covers almost the data and activities of the period 2002/03-2005/06, and all the years are according to the Gregorian calendar. However, due to lack of reliable and consistent data, the document is not complete and comprehensive enough. Even though it has these limitations, it could be a valuable source of reference to fulfill the data gap found in the Zone.
