Finfine, June 25 ( Oromiya) - Basin development has been undertaken on 9.6 million hectares of land existing in various parts of the country in this Ethiopian year, the Ministry of Agriculture said. Public Relations Head with the Ministry, Tarekegn Tsige, told ENA over the weekend that soil conservation is among the basin development works undertaken during the period under reference.
Soil conservation was carried out on 4.3 million hectares of land, according to Tarekegn. More than 10.7 million farmers are involved in the basin development activities.
The basin development works are valued at 6.8 billion Birr, according to Tarekegn. ( WIC)
