Kellem Wollega Zone Socio Economic Profile
1 Introduction
Kellem Wollega zone is one of the current 18 zones of Oromia Regional State. This Physical and Socio-economic profile of this zone is made for the first time since its establishment in 1998 E.C after it’s detachment from West Wollega zone. We believe that the preparation of a separate socio-economic profile of this particular zone would contribute to the sustainable development of the area by providing overall general information for the attainment of government strategic plan.
In this profile, an attempt is made to show the physical, social, economic and demographic situations of this particular zone. The description has four major parts: Physical Setting, Demographic Characteristics, Economic and Social Development and Problems and Potentialities of the zone at the end.
