The Federal High Court of Ethiopia has convicted two Swedish journalists of supporting terrorism.

The suspects were charged with supporting Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF)-a group labeled terrorist and outlawed by the National Parliament, and entering the country illegally.

The Court said the suspects had earlier conspired with ONLF senior leadership to harm the government and people of Ethiopia under the pretext of journalistic assignment.

They accompanied the ONLF into the country and were caught during a clash between Somali state police and ONLF over five months ago, it recalled.

Following its final inquiry on Tuesday, the Court convicted the two Swedish journalists of supporting a terrorist group and entering the country illegally.

Trial of the journalists has been adjourned until 21December 2011.
