A consultative workshop organized for stakeholders here on Wednesday on performance report of the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Addressing the workshop the State Minister, Remedan said multi-faceted activities including enforce laws and policies to ensure the rights, social security and benefit for people living with disabilities.
He said government has harmonized international conventions with domestic laws issued in the area and has brought tangible results since over the two years.
The workshop has eyed at exchanging ideas on the Convention and compiling national performance report on activities related to implementation of the Convention.
He said government is exerting utmost efforts towards effective implementation the Convention.
The State Minister noted that effective implementation of the Convention required concerted efforts of stakeholders.
He said the national report contains the implementation of the Growth and Transformation Plan, participation of people with disabilities in ongoing development and building the positive image of the country.
A day-long consultative workshop, which deliberated on the content of the Convention and presentation of performance report, attracted executives, NGOs and stakeholders.
