TAJAAJILA UMMATAA FI HAALA MIIJAA'AA

In meeting the millennium development goal of enabling all school age children get access to quality primary education and in creating trained and skilled human resource for the growing small and medium scale industry in the country, the government has formulated new education policy as of 1997 (1989 E.C) that aims at achieving these objectives.  In addition, it launched Education Sector Development Program (ESDP) as part of the 20 year education sector indicative plan to improve educational quality, relevance, efficiency, equity and expand access to education with special emphasis on primary education in rural and underserved areas, as well as the promotion of education for girls as a first step to achieve universal primary education by 2015.
