Kondala Woreda’s Socio Economic Profile

1. Introduction

Kondala is one of the 21 districts of west Wollega Zone. It was established in December 1998 E.C after being separated from the former Behgi district.

At present the district has 33 administrative sub divisions out of which 32 are peasant associations and the reaming 1 is urban centers. Gaba Dafino is the Capital of the district.

In this short paper a brief socio- economic profile of this district is presented. Relevant information was collected from different Zonal department and district offices.

The paper was organized in to four parts. The first part deals with introduction. The 2^nd and 3^rd parts brief physical setting and socio economic conditions respectively. Lastly part four describes problems and potentialities.
